  • Age regression - Mentally regressing to an age younger than your current one; it is different for everyone, can be different ages, different levels of regression (may not be full regression), and caused by different things. Almost always a coping mechanism for trauma or stress and can be voluntary or involuntary. It is NOT sexual - when regressed, people are very rarely able to consent.

  • Alterhuman - Umbrella term for identifying as or with something other than human. Typically involuntary or for coping.

  • Fictionkin - A subtype of otherkin for fictional otherkin kintypes.

  • Hyperfixation - An intense and often prolonged state of concentration on a particular activity or object. This may lead to happiness, satisfaction, and, at times, increased productivity, but can also have negative effects.

  • Kintype - The type of nonhuman thing an otherkin being identifies as.

  • Neopronouns (the ze/zim things) - “New pronouns” that are not he/she/they.

  • Otherkin - A term under the alterhuman umbrella for identifying involuntarily as a nonhuman, typically a non-existing creature such as a dragon.

  • Otherlink - A term under the alterhuman umbrella for identifying voluntarily as nonhuman.

  • Proshipper - Someone who supports/believes it is okay to ship pedophilic, zoophilic, incestuous, abusive, or otherwise problematic ships.

  • Special interest - An intense or highly-focus interest on something that lasts a long period of time, usually several years to an entire lifetime.

  • Tone tag - A ‘tag’ on the end of a sentence that indicates the tone of the text (e.g. /j = joking, /gen = genuine, etc.). If you’ve never heard of these, it may be a good idea to look up a list of them.
